NVC Foundation Homemade Pies & Baked Goods Sales – Volunteers Needed!

April 2022, Volume 73, Issue 4

Greetings everyone! This year we plan to make 140 pies using Matsue Watanabe’s Apple Pie recipe! Some of you may remember Matsue, who recently passed away. She used to Chair the Bakery Booth for the Women’s Auxiliary. We hope to keep this tradition going! As in the past, all proceeds will go toward the NVC / NVC Foundation Scholarship Fund! This year, all Pie & Baked Goods sales will be Take-Out only.

Apple Pie Baking Volunteers (No previous experience needed!)

Unfortunately, we have lost several volunteers from previous years, so we really need additional help for our Apple Pie Crew. Please see below:

Saturday, June 11, 2022 (Day before the Chow Mein Dinner):  20 volunteers

Duties include:
Wash, core, peel apples, pie crust preparation, crust rolling, crust filling, pie baking

Sunday, June 12, 2022 (Day of Chow Mein Dinner):  12 volunteers

Duties include:
Package all pies (4 volunteers)
2 shifts of curbside sales/runners (4 volunteers per shift)

Baked Goods Welcome!

Our patrons love to purchase homemade goodies and treats! If you are interested in donating baked goods, please individually package them and bring to the Clubhouse either Saturday, June 11 between 8:00 am – 5:00 pm OR Sunday, June 12 between 8:00 am – 10:00 am.

Please let us know if you or any of your friends would like to help with any of the volunteer needs listed above.

Thank you in advance for your consideration!

Bev Kashino, (206) 488-6678
