Days of Remembrance

Days of Remembrance are annual events held in cities across the country around February 19 to observe the signing of Executive Order 9066, which authorized the incarceration of people of Japanese ancestry into United States concentration camps during World War II. This article is reprinted from the Densho Encyclopedia to recognize the 80th anniversary of EO 9066 on February 19, 1942.



With sympathy and condolences to NVC and NVC Foundation extraordinary volunteers Dolly Miyoko Tokunaga and Matsue Watanabe. Dolly was born in Kent, WA and passed away at the age of 87. Matsue was born in Port Blakely, WA and passed away at the age of 94.
