With the relaxation of Washington State COVID restrictions, community organizations are returning to our Memorial Hall for their events. They especially appreciate the convenience and safety of our gated parking lot.
One such community event was held on Nov. 16. Tomio Moriguchi and Nikkei Community Network (NCN) members organized an event to welcome Tom and Yoko Sasaki back to Seattle after three years of COVID isolation in Japan. Tom has been a long time community leader and supporter. He served as chair of the Japan-America Society of the State of Washington and president of the Japanese Community Service of Seattle (Nikkei-jin-kai). Tom was one of the founders of the NCN and was awarded Japan’s prestigious Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Rosette. (This award is given to those who have made significant contributions to promoting friendly relations between Japan and the US.)
The welcome was held at the NVC Memorial Hall and the attendees included Consul General and Mrs. Inagaki and many NCN members.
[NOTE: NVC is a long-time member of NCN.]
