Chow Mein Dinner Canceled for 2021

[NOTE: Our apologies for running this article late. It was meant to run in last month’s issue. Although, it was published in the May 2021 online newsletter issue.]

The Chow Mein Dinner has been an annual event for the NVC for many years and has been an important fundraising effort for the NVC Memorial Hall. It has been a great event for members and the community to catch up with friends, raise money, and enjoy some good chow mein.

In 2020, we made the difficult decision to cancel the dinner due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, because we felt that the health and safety of all involved was our number one priority. Thanks to the support of the community, we received generous donations from many of you that enabled the Memorial Hall to financially support itself during this difficult time. We are very grateful for your support!

Unfortunately, at this time, we find ourselves in a situation similar to the one we were in a year ago. Thus, we will have to make the hard decision to cancel the Chow Mein Dinner once again. Though we are making tremendous strides with vaccinations as a community, we feel it may be too early to ask and expect volunteers to come together in order to make this event a success.

We look forward to our next Chow Mein Dinner, hopefully at the beginning of the summer in 2022. Thank you again for your support of the NVC and the Chow Mein Dinner!
