Calling all Minidoka WWII Veterans, their families, and friends!
The National Park Service is updating the replica Honor Roll located at the front entrance of Minidoka National Historic Site in Jerome, Idaho. If you are a WWII veteran who was unjustly incarcerated at Minidoka, or if you are a friend or relative of such a veteran, we’d like to hear from you!
From DECEMBER 2021 until JANUARY 31, 2022, Minidoka National Historic Site (MNHS) staff is accepting applications to add Minidoka WWII veterans onto the Honor Roll if their names have not yet been listed. Applications to correct misspellings or make changes to an existing name are also being accepted.
Only WWII veterans who have direct family ties to Minidoka are eligible for inclusion on the Minidoka Honor Roll. Veterans include those who served between 12/7/1941 and 12/31/1946, whether in the 442nd RCT, the Military Intelligence Service, the Women’s Army Corps, the Army Nurse Corps, the Cadet Nurse Corps, and those veterans who served in nonsegregated units during WWII (e.g., Army Air Corps, 82nd Airborne, 101st Airborne, etc.).
Please share this widely, so that everyone who wishes to be included or have their loved one commemorated on the Honor Roll will have an opportunity to do so.
Details on how to apply, more information, and the current replica Honor Roll name list go to https://go.nps.gov/minidokahonor.
