The fifth scholarship will be awarded in commemoration of Colonel Jimmie Kanaya, a highly decorated 442nd Regimental Combat Team medic, known for his leadership and role as an educator. The Col. Jimmie Kanaya Scholarship Award for $3,000 will be granted to a high school senior pursuing higher education at a community college, technical college, or four-year university.

Priority for the Col. Jimmie Kanaya Scholarship will be given to those who submit a completed application by February 11, 2022, by 11:59 p.m. PST. Consideration will be given to those who demonstrate academic achievement, leadership, community service, and connection to the NVC through legacy or volunteerism.

Students may apply to either one of the scholarships, but not both.

Access to both applications will be posted on the NVC/NVCF website - nvcfoundation.org.
