NVC Chow Mein Dinner

by Chow Mein Committee
August 2020, Volume 70, Issue 7

Like most organizations, NVC has closed their Memorial Hall to all activities during the current pandemic. However, the fixed costs for insurance, building maintenance, and utilities have continued.  In addition, the homeless in the area have used our building entrance and parking lot for shooting up their drugs, littering, and as an outdoor bathroom.

Each year we have held our Chow Mein dinner as a fundraiser to help cover the expenses of maintaining our Memorial Hall and continuing our NVC activities.  However, due to the pandemic, we made the decision to cancel this year’s dinner out of concern for everyone’s safety and well-being.

In lieu of the Chow Mein dinner, we asked past ticket purchasers to help support NVC with a donation.  We are grateful and humbled to have received over 500 donations.  We have listed all the donors in the June and August newsletters.  Please notify us if your name was not listed.

NVC and the Chow Mein committee would like to thank each of you for your support and generous donation.  We sincerely appreciate the great support from our community.

Hopefully, we will once again hold our annual Chow Mein dinner next summer.

Volunteers prep take out dinners at last year’s Chow Mein Dinner as they support NVC’s largest fundraiser of the year. Due to the pandemic, we had to cancel our Chow Mein Dinner in 2020, but we hope to resume in 2021!
