This year in the interest of public safety and our wish for everyone to Stay Home and Stay Safe, we brought Veterans Day to you in the comfort and safety of your home. Our keynote speakers for this virtual event were the Battalion Commander Major (Promotable) Benjamin J. Bloomstrom, and Command Sergeant Major Jerry D. Walden of today’s 100th Infantry Battalion, headquartered out of Honolulu, HI.
The Nisei Veterans Committee and NVC Foundation send a huge thank you to Mari Kamemoto, Brian Kamemoto, and Ben Higashi for the fantastic work they did on the NVC and NVCF Veterans Day Video. Their invaluable contributions were critical to the success of this project.
The NVC Foundation Scholarship Program is now open to receive applications! All scholarships are open to both high school seniors and college students. The NVC/WAC Scholarship is for $3,000. In addition, several Shiro Kashino Memorial Scholarships are awarded.
The Scholarship Committee is proud to announce the first annual Colonel Jimmie Kanaya Scholarship Award for $3,000. This scholarship will be granted to a high school senior pursuing higher education at a community college, technical college, or four-year university.
