2019 NVC Memorial Day Service

The 74th Annual NVC Memorial Day Service was attended by approximately 175 NVC and NVC Foundation members, elected officials, the Japanese Consulate, community leaders, religious leaders, and many friends and family members from the community.  All gathered to respectfully honor the men and women of our Armed Services.


Issei & Nisei: Our Greatest Generations

You are cordially invited to attend the Dedication Ceremony to unveil the Issei & Nisei Monument on Saturday, August 17th. The Seattle NVC is proud and honored to have built a lasting tribute to recognize the many achievements and accomplishments of the Issei an Nisei generations.

NVC Memorial Day Speech

"Legacy is perpetuated through an understanding and appreciation of history. It is a promise that I have made to my Soldiers, to my Unit, and to my Country, that I will continue to perpetuate the legacy that was fought for by the Nisei Veterans that came before me. For the men that came before me, I will continue the fight and will always Go For Broke."

Placing Flags for Memorial Day

The NVC tradition of placing American flags at the graves of Nikkei veterans continued on Saturday morning, May 25th during the Memorial Day weekend at the Evergreen-Washelli cemetery in Seattle.  With help from the Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts of the Seattle Buddhist Church Troop and Pack 252, NVC members placed over 300 flags at the graves of our veterans.

Seattle Channel Wins Emmy for “Shane Sato: Portraits of Courage”

The Seattle Channel's story, "Shane Sato: Portraits of Courage" was honored at the 56th Annual Northwest Regional Emmy Awards in Seattle Washington, June 8, 2019. Randy Eng shot, edited and produced the story, which originally aired on January 18, 2018. Lori Matsukawa was the reporter for the story. 

Free First Aid / CPR / AED Classes for NVC & NVCF Members

The International District Emergency Center (IDEC) will be offering four FREE First Aid / CPR / AED classes. All four classes will be held at the Nisei Veteran's Hall, 1212 South King Street. Pre-registration is required.  Read more.

NVC Annual Golf Tournament on August 19

The Annual NVC Golf Tournament will be held on Monday, August 19, 2019, starting at 9:00 AM at the Foster Golf Links in Tukwila, WA.  Please note, this tournament is open to all NVC and NVC Foundation members, their family, and friends! Entry deadline is August 12th.  Learn more.
