Volunteer Appreciation Brunch 2019

There are many definitions for the label of “volunteering”, but no universal agreement.  One definition that seems to describe our volunteers best is: “Someone who contributes time effort and talent to meet a need or further a mission, without going on the payroll”.

The Seattle Nisei Veterans Committee and the NVC Foundation is an all-volunteer organization and without our volunteers, many of the events, programs, and everyday business of the organizations would not take place.  It is important to thank our many volunteers for their contributions to the overall success of our organization.  Too many times, the actions and efforts of volunteers can be taken for granted.  The Volunteer Appreciation Brunch is a way for the Seattle NVC and NVC Foundation to express our gratitude.

The 2019 version of our Volunteer Appreciation Brunch took place on January 27, 2019 at Terry’s Kitchen located in Bellevue.  The 100 volunteers and their guests were treated to a delicious buffet meal consisting of eggs, Portuguese sausage, Spam, fried rice, corned beef hash, bacon and Terry’s Kitchen “famous” chicken wings.  The meal was fabulous and satisfying.

We are looking forward to seeing our volunteers at next year’s appreciation brunch.  For those of you who were able to join us—thank you!  For those of you that had other commitments, we hope you will be able to join us for next year!
