2019 NVC Veterans Day Program

Over 105 people attended the 2019 Nisei Veterans Committee (NVC) Veterans Day Program at NVC Memorial Hall on Sunday, 10 November 2019. NVC Commander Walter Tanimoto welcomed everyone, and then special guest Secretary Norm Mineta (former Secretary of Commerce and Secretary of Transportation) spoke on the significance of the Nisei Veterans in winning redress.

Journey to Mosaic Visits NVC Memorial Hall

The non-profit group, Journey to Mosaic has been visiting the NVC Hall since 2009 as part of their mission to educate and transform lives and communities. On this 10-year visit, they heard speaker Don Maekawa recall his childhood experiences growing up in concentration camps at Tule Lake and Minidoka.

Supporting Our Troops

Past NVC Commander Keith Yamaguchi thanks those who made donations of reading materials, non-perishable food items and cash donations to our program to support the men and women who are currently serving in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Global media and technology leader Comcast Corporation will sponsor a National Veterans Network (NVN) national video contest that encourages high school students to study the stories of Japanese American WWII soldiers.

The Nisei Veterans Committee (NVC) and the United Service Organization (USO) honored two Nisei Veterans on Saturday, 2 November 2019, as the Sam Mitsui and Frank Nishimura families gathered at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport USO.

The Go For Broke Spirit Book Release and Program

Please join the NVC/NVC Foundation in welcoming Shane Sato back to Seattle. Shane will be presenting copies of his Go For Broke Spirit, Portraits of Legacy Vol. 2 book to the Seattle Nisei Veterans who are featured in this book.
