SGM Jerry Walden was born in Seoul, Korea in 1975 and enlisted in the Army in 1993. He completed 11B Infantryman Basic Training at Fort Benning, Georgia in November 1993. SGM Walden currently serves as a Battalion Operations SGM for the 100th BN-442d Infantry Regiment out of Fort Shafter, Hawaii.
His military assignments included the 196th Infantry Training Brigade, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, 303rd Maneuver Enhancement Brigade, Fort Shafter Hawaii, Joint Interagency Task Force West, United States Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM), Camp Smith Hawaii.
SGM Walden’s leadership positions include Infantry Platoon Sergeant, Senior Infantry Advisor, Company First Sergeant, Senior Operations NCO of Forward Deployed Analysts, and Infantry Battalion Operations Sergeant Major.
His civilian education consists of currently pursuing a Bachelor’s of Science in Information Technology with a Cyber-Security Certificate. His military education includes; the Primary Leadership Development Course, Advanced Non-Commissioned Officers Course, and the Senior Leader Course.
SGM Walden has deployed numerous times to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom with the 100th BN 442 IN Regiment.
SGM Walden’s awards and decorations include; the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (4 OLC), Joint Service Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal (5 OLC), Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, GWOT Expeditionary Medal, GWOT Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (3), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Ribbon (2), Combat Infantryman Badge.
He married Bona Eleazar on November 3, 2014. They reside in Honolulu, Hawaii with their son Jeremiah James Walden (3).
