October 2019, Volume 69, Issue 9

These are photos of some of the members of the 122nd TPASE (Theater Public Affairs Support Element) receiving care packages sent by the Nisei Veterans Committee (NVC).  NVC life member Colonel Stan Seo currently deployed in Afghanistan (AFG) writes:

“Big Thank You to the Nisei Veterans Committee for getting boots out to one of our own SSG Mike Tietjen. The NVC is better than our supply system getting boots out to Western AFG [Afghanistan], Herat and beating it by over a week. All the way from Seattle!”

“Thank you for your support!”

Those of you who encountered supply issues while in the service know how difficult it can be to get items you need, but we never would have imagined getting boots would be an issue.

The 122nd is commanded by NVC life member Stan Seo.  Stan is a Colonel in the Washington Army National Guard and is also a Captain with the King County Sheriff’s Department.  At the March 2019 NVC membership meeting the NVC voted to adopt the 122nd during their deployment.  The 122nd is deployed to two theater locations:  Operation Freedom Sentinel – Afghanistan, and Operation Inherent Resolve – Iraq.

NVC past commander Keith Yamaguchi and his wife MaryAnn are leading the NVC efforts to collect and send care package items to the soldiers of the 122nd

We are collecting holiday items for the 122nd.  Holiday items can be dropped off at the NVC Memorial Hall.  Examples of holiday items:
