February’s NVCF Speaker Series featured Shane Sato, who spoke about his book, The Go For Broke Spirit, Portraits of Courage. This stunning book showcases photographs and short stories of 81 World War II veterans, including many from the Seattle area.
On January 27, 2018, the Holocaust Center for Humanity produced an International Holocaust Remembrance Day program, Victims to Soldiers: Ritchie Boys & Nisei Veterans, at the Museum of Flight in Seattle.

The Nisei Veterans Committee (NVC) honored Specialist (SPC) Mark Yamane at the United Service Organization Northwest SeaTac International Airport Center. SPC Yamane’s photo is the last in the line of 64 KIA’s the NVC honors at the Nisei Veterans Memorial Hall.
GiveBIG Seattle is a one-day online giving event to raise funds for nonprofit organizations serving Greater Seattle including the NVC Foundation. The GiveBig For All event starts Wednesday, May 9th from midnight to midnight.
Congratulations to Emily Ko, who has been awarded the NVC/WAC Scholarship. She is the daughter of Tina and Jeffrey Ko and the granddaughter of NVC member, James Zumoto. Emily attends Issaquah High School.
