The Nisei Veterans Committee Commander and NVC Foundation President Award is a special certification of commendation to recognize and show appreciation to an individual who has made notable contributions and who has performed significant acts or services in the best interest of our community relevant to events and programs consistent with the NVC and NVCF bylaws and policies.
This year, four very deserving individuals were selected to receive the Award:
- Washington State Representative Sharon Tomiko Santos
- Washington State Senator Bob Hasegawa
- King 5 News Anchor Lori Matsukawa
- Consulate General of Japan Masahiro Omura
At the 72nd Annual NVC/NVCF Installation Banquet, each award recipient in attendance received a plaque with the inscription “In recognition and appreciation for your long-standing commitment to the Nisei Veterans Committee, the NVC Foundation and our Community”. (Lori Matsukawa was not able to attend the event and will be receiving her award at the NVC Foundation Luau in October.)
Congratulations Sharon, Bob, Lori and Masa-san! Thank you all for your unwavering support and devoted friendship to the NVC and NVC Foundation.
