NVC Members invited to attend a Joint Luncheon
As with past events, the NVC welcomes US Army Major General Thomas S. James, Jr. of the 7th Division of Joint Base Lewis-McChord and Lieutenant General Motomatsu of the Japan Ground Self Defense Force, Western Army. We are also honored to have Admiral Dennis Blair, retired, CEO of Sasakawa USA, an independent American non-profit, non-partisan institution devoted to research, analysis and better understanding of the U.S.-Japan relationship. Sasakawa USA would like to fund this event by providing support and sponsoring the cost of lunch for the occasion. The Sasakawa USA participation was organized by Dale Watanabe of the Japan America Society of Washington.
The joint luncheon has been praised by all past participants as an educational experience about Japanese American history and an opportunity for future collaboration between the NVC, US Army and JGSDF. Officers and men of both armies enjoyed many displays and artifacts in the Museum. They also enjoyed meeting and speaking with NVC members. I urge all NVC veterans to come and enjoy lunch together with these modern warriors and to share the similar experiences you have faced.
RSVP is required for this year’s event, as lunch will be furnished by Sasakawa USA. Anyone who wishes to attend, please let Dale Watanabe or Allen Nakamoto know as soon as possible. The event will be held on Saturday, September 17th from 10 am to 2 pm at the NVC Memorial Hall.
