On June 11th, twenty-nine bricks were installed on the NVC Foundation Memorial Wall. A total of 3,570 bricks have been installed on the Wall since our dedication in 2010. As we approach our goal of 4,000 bricks, less than 90 spaces remain for bricks to honor our veterans.
The bricks were installed by volunteers and seven donors, including one from Texas, who attended to witness and assist in the placement of their bricks. A large contingent from the Japanese Baptist Church attended to honor the installation of a brick for Rev. E. Brooks Andrews.
The installation of the granite bricks requires a dry and cool concrete wall for the adhesive to properly secure the brick to the Wall, and on June 11th the weather was ideal. Many thanks go to Paul Murakami, Terry Takeuchi, Mike Yano and Tom Iwata for installing the bricks. Thank you also to the people from the Japanese Baptist Church for providing refreshments.
