William Tsuyoshi Hirata, 86, of Seattle, died on February 20, 2015. He was born in Baker, Oregon, on August 26, 1928. William graduated with a degree in Economics from the University of Portland. He was married to Kimiye Akiyama on October 7, 1950. William served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1951-1953. He was an accountant and worked for Boeing, Vita Foods, and Trident Seafoods. In 1965-66 he served as Commander of the Seattle Nisei Veterans Committee.

William is survived by his wife Kimiye, and children Ronald (Sharon), Donna (Mark) Young, Gwen (Larry) Ishino, and Curtis (Traci), as well as eight grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. A private memorial service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Blaine Memorial United Methodist Church or to the Seattle NVC Foundation.
