National Trust for Historic Preservation, Historic Seattle -- Join with Jan Johnson, owner, at a program on Preserving the Panama Hotel, Thursday, April 9, 2015 from 5:30-7:00 pm, at NVC Memorial Hall, 1212 South King Street, Seattle. Celebrate one of Seattle’s remarkable historic places with a very special announcement regarding its future!  The evening will include a screening of a new short film The Panama Hotel Legacy by Big Story Group and a performance by Seattle Kokon Taiko. SCIDpda --  On April 25th, SCIDpda will co-host the annual C/ID Spring Clean event here in the neighborhood. As in years past, the event will facilitate the restoration of the CID, from cleaning and rehabilitating facades, to picking up trash, to gardening and landscaping. The schedule for the event: 8:00 AM Check-in & Breakfast, 8:30 AM Event Kickoff, 12:00 PM Lunch & Entertainment, 1:00 PM Event Wrap-Up. Seattle Cherry Blossom & Japanese Cultural Festival Committee -- Founded on a sunny afternoon in the spring of 1976, the Seattle Cherry Blossom and Japanese Cultural Festival has grown to become a three-day celebration enjoyed by hundreds of thousands of people over the past 35 annual events. This year the Festival will be held April 25-27 at Seattle Center. As a public service, the Festival is dedicated to increasing the understanding and friendship between the people of Japan and the Pacific Northwest by presenting culturally educational programs, arts, technologies, and the rich heritage of Japan.
